If you are a fan of alien/space movies, like the original “Alien” series with Sigourney Weaver, or even the newer versions that have been made, you are likely to enjoy “Life.” The film had an element that reminded me of Michael Crichton’s “Sphere” as well. I think that came from the fact the astronauts were trapped on the ship, with no one available to help them.
I can’t say much of the plot, without giving too many spoilers away. There were some great twists and creative turns in the story, which I loved. I was able to figure out what some of the twists were going to be, but not until they started unfolding them.
The acting was spot on, and the characters were given enough of a background story for the audience to feel some emotional distress when they die. Its not academy award winning, but better than what I see in most slasher horror movies, which is close to what this is, considering the amount of blood and creative means of death.
This movie will leave you squirming a bit in your seat, but overall, it gets a thumbs up from me.
