Unfriended: Dark Web, movie review

I wasn’t planning to see this movie, but the timing worked out so it was the one I saw. I am happy to say, I am glad I saw it.

The movie is told completely from the point of view of a laptop. The film starts with you seeing a person trying to log into a laptop by guessing the password, so you know something is fishy. You then get to watch the person log in, check his Facebook, and begin a Skype game night with his friends.

Not to give away too many spoilers, but since this is a horror, you can probably guess, the members of this game night are going to get picked off one by one. The laptop was left in an open place, with the intent of someone taking it, in a creative means of finding victims for a dark web betting game, where people pay to see people murdered in various gruesome ways, plus place bets on how they will react to various horrific events.

So basically, the movie audience is watching the movie, as if they are one of the rich folks watching events unfold. It would def be cool to watch this movie on your laptop, because then you really would feel like you were part of the game.

Not only is the means of story telling original, but the acting is some of the best I have seen in a while. These actors, which many seemed unknown, were giving it their all, crying, screaming, and truly making the story believable. You connect with the people in the short time you are exposed to them, and are quickly cheering along with them, even though, as most horror movies do, you are wishing they made better choices.

So yes, this is a horror movie worth seeing!! In whatever means you can.
